At thanksgiving I’m the girl who reaches for the dark meat and not the breast (I think it has more flavor). Although I do love a nice filet, I’ll usually opt for a Ribeye as the fat tends to give it more flavor as well! Yes, higher in calories, but I don’t count calories or weigh my food and MY body responds better to high fats! Again, this is MY body and my preferences and no, I’m not on a ‘ketogenic’ diet and yes, I do eat plenty of fruits which tend to be where I get most of my carbs. I’m not on any type of ‘fad diet’ nor do I believe in them. - I don’t stress over food. I eat what I want, when I want it and listen to my body and what it’s asking for. My body tends to crave red meat around that time of the month and I used to suffer from anemia so the iron really helps. Yes, spinach and plenty of other foods contain iron as well but nothing quite does it for me like red meat! - When I cook at home I only buy grass-fed beef and wild caught fish (I don’t eat chicken). The more I learn and progress, the more I understand things don't just happen by chance. We cannot grow externally without growing internally and doing the interior work, the mindset shift, the constant pursuit of growth, the WANT. I wasn’t paying attention to what foods were making me bloating and uncomfortable. I was just simply eating to numbers. I mistook bloat for ‘fat’. I ate after I was full and I refrained from eating even when I was hungry. I restricted food. I deprived myself. I binged. I jumped from fad diet to fad diet thinking ‘this time it will be different’. It wasn’t. - I thought I had tried everything BUT the one thing I hadn’t tried was being HEALTHY. When I started to TRULY care about my health and not my waist to bum ratio is when my whole world changed. View PictureI know it sounds absurd but I very strongly believe in the mental and emotional ties that manifest as physical. It's difficult to face but if you’re struggling with weight gain there's a reason that your body thinks it needs the weight that it has. Ask yourself why you need the weight. The only way to lose the weight is to uncover the underlying need and release that need so it no longer exists. Those who are overweight usually feel a need for emotional protection. That feeling of rejection and insecurity and attempting to fill a void needs to be addressed. Don't use food as substitute for affection. Yes, I know...easier said than done but my point is that anyone can hand you a diet plan. It's up to YOU to change your mindset before diving into the physical change. View PictureHi. I’m Ainsley and I don’t have 20/20 vision 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 5'4 and I can’t remember the last time I stepped on a scale. There are days I feel great and there are also days where I feel uncomfortable, ugly and not so great. I eat a balanced diet most of the time. I don't count calories, macros or build, bulk or drop at any point during the year. I don't binge all day Sunday and starve myself the other six days. I don't punish myself for having a burger on a Tuesday night. I don't take fat burners and I'm not obsessed with egg whites. I train hard and workout about 4 days/week but sometimes other priorities supersede. - I have built a LIFE around balance and this mindset stems much beyond the area of health and fitness. I make time and prioritize what is most important to me and no, it’s not always the gym. You may see me munching on cookies or sipping a giant glass of Malbec 🍷 but please don't chalk it up to ‘genetics’ or ‘getting to workout all day’...Because I don't. I am still very much a regular person and will always be a work in progress. Start to change one thing today that will help you live a more balanced, happy, healthy life. Whether it's finding time to call a friend or a brisk walk around the neighborhood, just start. Consistency is key but never sacrifice your dreams or the things you love. View PictureI don't 'bulk' or 'cut' and my body stays relatively the same year round with changes being gradual, long term and sustainable. I don't use squeems or waist trainers. I'm content where I'm at. It wasn't always like this. I used to look in the mirror wishing for a bigger boottayy or smaller waist. I used to stress about what I ate and how much I worked out. I always thought each diet would be ‘different this time’. And so the cycle would recharge time and time again along with the binges, rebounds and unhappiness. Most of my issues were actually CAUSED by dieting. - Even though I was underweight and not overweight I still had an unhealthy relationship with my body and food. Everyone (males included) have body worries, and I'm not exempt but I have learned to love the skin I'm in and it wasn't until then that the outside started reflecting that. By learning the difference between looking good on the outside and FEELING good and being healthy on the inside, I was able to transform my mind and you can too. - SO much of the 'weight' struggle is MENTAL and dieting tends to make food the enemy! I enjoy teaching people how to tap into their mindset and look at dieting and training in a different light. My goal is for you to commit to exercising as a way to FEEL better physically and mentally instead of using it as a driving force to burn calories. My goal is to teach you how to use nutrition as a path to feeling as physically good and healthy as you can instead of using it as another mechanism to make you feel bad about the way you eat. - Just a little reminder that the losing weight won't make you a happier person, you'll just weigh less. I've had so much going on with work that I second guessed this trip about 100 times 🤦🏻‍♀️ (I tend to either overthink things orrrr be extremely impulsive 🤷🏻‍♀️) - Typically after a week of being gone I miss home and my routine and end up flying back early. This time was different. I extended my trip, stayed longer and was STILL reluctant to leave today. First time in my life this has EVER happened. - Yes, I absolutely LOVE what I do and the journey through everything I'm creating (stay tuned wink wink 😉) BUT I think my body and mind just needed a break...AND THAT'S OK! Despite sub-optimal conditions, Iv’e still been able to make health a priority. It IS possible to stay active and healthy despite your hectic schedules or lack of resources. - If I could give you just 1 tip it’d be this: Keep. It. Simple. 1) When in doubt…lean meats & veggies is your go-to meal option. 2) When in doubt…find a local playground or park. They’ve got everything you need for a killer bodyweight workout. 3) When in doubt…go on a nice, long walk. When people tell me they're holding off on starting their fitness journey due to work, travel or vacation I simply give a blank stare. I'm NO stranger to a hectic lifestyle and I make it work. Why can't you? Why does everyone seem to think they need to put their lives on hold to change their lifestyle? Why does everyone seem to think they have to be stuck in a bubble in order to change their lifestyle? Should I say that word again? Lifestyle. This is your wake up call.
